SUMMARY

The District Manager is responsible for leading and managing branches and Commercial clients. The District Manager provides direction and leadership for a team of branch managers, credit officers, portfolio managers, relationship managers, and business development officers. Responsibilities include: managing revenue and expenses for the team, mentoring and guiding branch managers, and managing the credit opportunities presented by deposit oriented relationship managers and business development officers. The District Manager must ensure the team builds a robust pipeline and manages a portfolio of commercial Banking clients ranging from complex credits to deposit only relationships.

Ensures compliance with established Bank policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation DD (Truth in Savings Act) Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd Frank Act), Elder Abuse Laws, Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program, Right to Financial Privacy Act (state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act.

REQUIRED DUTIES

1. Responsible for driving the sales results of all retail branches and division commercial loan productions.

2. Oversees the overall operational soundness of the assigned branch locations.

3. Responsible for attaining profitability in retail branches and commercial lending division.

4. Makes recommendations for approval or non-approval, reviews credit memorandums

5. Maintains extensive contact with customers, the public and the community, and conducts relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the Company.

6. Represents Hanmi Bank by actively participating in outside civic and community affairs, business and industry-related organizations, and other professional activities as appropriate.

7. Attends, prepares and presents new and additional credit proposals in loan committee meetings

8. Provides customer service including meeting and greeting customers in person and on the phone.

9. Originates loans within the Bank's lending parameters and underwrite all property types and evaluate property condition (including but not limited to multi-factor stress testing), sponsorship, and global cash flow (using bank approved software)/contingent liability of the loan/guarantor on an as needed basis;

10. Works closely with staff to ensure proper maintenance and update of the loan files, including any extensions, modifications, or workout requests. If necessary, manages and disposes existing and future REOs

11. Assists the manager in preparation of budgeting, planning, and training

12. Coordinates marketing, operational and lending activities for the department.

13. Promotes the corporate culture through coaching, guidance, and staff motivation.

14. Works with staff to ensure excellent customer service and sales. Leads staff to accomplish company goals.

15. Identifies and implements marketing strategies and plans events to support sales.

16. Performs personnel actions including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for employment; supervises the daily activities of the team including, but not limited to, effective delegation of assignments, developing work schedules and providing necessary training.

17. Provides leadership, training and supervision.

18. Performs supervisory duties of staff and coordinates staff coverage.

19. Processes, solves and answers complex customer transactions, problems or inquiries.

20. Consistently applies decision making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using these instances as learning tools for employee development.

21. Plays a positive role in the development and growth of assigned department staff through excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong delegation skills assuring a highly cross-trained staff.

22. Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others; works ethically and with integrity; upholds organizational values; accepts responsibility for own actions.

23. Follows policies and procedures; completes tasks correctly and on time; supports the company’s goals and values.

24. Performs the position safely, without endangering the health or safety to themselves or others and will be expected to report potentially unsafe conditions. The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one’s own actions and conduct.

25. Performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or 10 years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in SBA and/or commercial regulations and supervisory skills. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.

• Advanced experience, knowledge and training in progressively responsible Company administration, management and supervisory activities.

• Advanced experience, knowledge and training in all operational and lending activities and terminology.

• Advanced knowledge of related state and federal Banking compliance regulations, Company operational policies and procedures, and the Company’s products and services.

• Excellent business development and client relationship skills.

• Proven ability to effectively train and instruct others in a formal classroom or one-on-one environment.

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to provide leadership, supervision and training for 10 or more employees using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity; demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills.

• Some knowledge of human resource and labor laws and policies.

• Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs.

• Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.

• Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.

• Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.

• Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department or Company activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures); initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or Company activities; effectively staff (selecting, training and developing employees); directing employees towards the desired objectives (delegating, motivating, resolving problems); controlling the function (developing performance standards, measuring results, taking corrective action and rewarding employees as appropriate).

• Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.

• Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.

• Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

Pay $136,600 - $252,500 per year. The salary reflects the full, reasonably expected salary range for this position. Salary is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates may be eligible for bonus, stock, commissions, and incentives at the Company’s sole discretion.
