This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior IT IV&V Oversight Specialist based in United States.
This senior consulting role focuses on independently assessing complex IT programs to strengthen quality, readiness, compliance, and delivery outcomes. You will evaluate software development processes, technical artifacts, requirements traceability, testing evidence, configuration integrity, and corrective actions. The position requires a strong understanding of federal and industry standards, with particular emphasis on IEEE 1012, CMMI, and PMBOK. You will translate assessment results into clear, thorough technical documentation and actionable findings. The role also involves collaborating directly with clients and colleagues across different levels and functions. - Conduct independent verification and validation assessments of IT programs, with a focus on software development processes, governance, quality, and delivery readiness.
- Review software development planning, process implementation, and adherence to defined program policies, processes, and procedures.
- Assess software artifacts for quality, completeness, consistency, and alignment with established requirements.
- Evaluate requirements traceability across software lifecycle artifacts and identify inconsistencies, gaps, or areas requiring corrective action.
- Review configuration integrity and release-readiness evidence to determine whether solutions are adequately prepared for deployment.
- Evaluate verification and validation evidence, including the status and closure of discrepancies and corrective actions.
- Assess key program disciplines including communications management, configuration management, integration management, data oversight and planning, cutover management, testing, and validation.
- Gather, interpret, and apply relevant industry and government practices to support objective program reviews and assessments.
- Develop detailed technical documentation describing IV&V findings, observations, risks, and assessment outcomes.
- Ensure all assessment documentation is accurate, complete, thorough, well organized, and professionally written.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively through both written reports and verbal discussions with clients and project stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and client teams while maintaining independence, objectivity, and analytical rigor throughout assessments.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience performing Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) for state or federal clients, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with IEEE 1012 IL4 assessments.
- Strong knowledge of IV&V requirements and industry standards, including IEEE 1012, CMMI, and PMBOK.
- Experience evaluating software development processes, requirements traceability, testing and validation, configuration management, release readiness, and corrective-action processes.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex technical and program information objectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and clearly explain findings.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage multiple assessment activities and documentation requirements.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, technical teams, project stakeholders, and colleagues at different organizational levels.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, consistency, and thoroughness.
- Ability to independently interpret and consistently apply established policies, processes, procedures, and assessment frameworks.
- Technical writing samples will be required as part of the evaluation process.
- Experience working in an Agile environment is preferred.
- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is strongly preferred.
- Consulting opportunity supporting future projects expected to begin in late 2026 or early 2027.
