Job Description

The Clinical Program Manager provides clinical and operational leadership for the CHRIS Counseling Center – Gwinnett location. This position is responsible for supporting high-quality behavioral health services, providing clinical leadership and staff support, monitoring program performance, driving marketing and outreach efforts, and ensuring compliance with CHRIS 180 standards and applicable behavioral health regulations.

The Clinical Program Manager serves as the primary day-to-day leader for the Gwinnett Counseling Center and works closely with the Clinical Director, therapists, clinical leadership, admissions, operations, and other CHRIS 180 departments to ensure effective service delivery and positive experience for individuals and families receiving services.

This position will provide a balance of clinical leadership, program management, staff development, quality assurance, and direct clinical support. The Clinical Program Manager will help build a strong, accountable, and collaborative clinical team while supporting the growth and sustainability of the Counseling Center.

Clinical Leadership & Staff Support

  • Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and support to therapists and clinical staff assigned to the Gwinnett Counseling Center.
  • Provide clinical supervision, through chart review, coaching, and support related to clinical practice, documentation, risk, assessments, treatment planning, and service delivery.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, training, and ongoing professional development of clinical staff.
  • Participate in interviewing, selection, performance evaluations, and performance management of clinical staff as needed.
  • Promote a supportive, collaborative, trauma-informed, and accountable clinical environment.
  • Assist staff with complex clinical situations, crisis response, and appropriate escalation of clinical concerns.
  • Provide and coordinate clinical supervision processes in collaboration with the Clinical Director and approved clinical supervisors.
  • Promote staff development and identify opportunities to strengthen clinical skills and service delivery.

Program Management & Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day clinical operations of the Gwinnett Counseling Center.
  • Monitor staffing, caseloads, schedules, referrals, service delivery, and overall program capacity.
  • Ensure therapists maintain appropriate caseloads and meet established productivity and documentation expectations.
  • Monitor program performance and identify barriers affecting access, engagement, productivity, or service quality.
  • Work with admissions and operational teams to support timely referral, intake processes and case assignment.
  • Assist with developing and implementing workflows, procedures, and processes that improve clinic operations.
  • Participate in regular program and leadership meetings and communicate program needs, barriers, and successes to the Clinical Director and organizational leadership.
  • Support coverage and continuity of services when staffing or operational needs arise.

Clinical Quality, Documentation & Compliance

  • Monitor clinical documentation and ensure compliance with CHRIS 180, Medicaid, DBHDD, HIPAA, licensing, accreditation, and other applicable requirements.
  • Participate in chart reviews, quality assurance activities, audits, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Identify trends in documentation, clinical practice, risk management, and service delivery and develop strategies to address concerns.
  • Ensure clinical staff complete required assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, safety plans, service orders, and other required documentation.
  • Assist with addressing audit findings and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Maintain current knowledge of behavioral health regulations, evidence-based practices, and organizational policies.
  • Promote ethical practice, confidentiality, mandated reporting, and client safety.

Clinical Services & Direct Practice

  • Assist with diagnostic verifications, behavioral health assessments, clinical consultations, and other clinical responsibilities as needed, which includes other duties as assigned.
  • Provide clinical support during high-risk or complex situations.
  • Participate in crisis response and consultation when needed.
  • Hold a limited caseload of clients.
  • Model high-quality clinical practice and documentation for the clinical team.

Performance, Productivity & Accountability

  • Monitor and hold people accountable for individual and program-level productivity, service utilization, attendance, engagement, and other key performance indicators.
  • Work with clinicians to identify barriers to productivity and develop appropriate action plans.
  • Ensure staff maintain consistent service schedules and timely documentation.
  • Address performance concerns through coaching, clear expectations, follow-up, and collaboration with the Clinical Director and Human Resources when appropriate.
  • Use data to identify opportunities for improvement and support informed program decisions.

Community Engagement & Program Growth

  • Represent CHRIS 180 and the Gwinnett Counseling Center within the community.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with schools, healthcare providers, community organizations, referral sources, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead marketing outreach efforts to increase referrals, build partnerships, and increase awareness and access to Counseling Center services.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen referral relationships and expand access to behavioral health services.
  • Participate in community events, presentations, and outreach activities as appropriate.
  • Support the Clinical Director and organizational leadership with program growth, marketing and development initiatives.

Collaboration & Organizational Leadership

  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director and the leadership of the Atlanta Counseling Center and Fulton Counseling Centers to promote consistency across all Counseling Centers.
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Operations, Compliance, People and Talent, Finance, and other departments as needed.
  • Communicate program needs, clinical trends, staffing concerns, and operational barriers in a timely manner.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives, committees, trainings, and special projects.
  • Provides support for agency-wide needs and initiatives as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Promote the mission, vision, values, and culture of CHRIS 180.

Professional Development

  • Attend required meetings, trainings, supervision, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain required licensure, certifications, and credentials.
  • Remain current on behavioral health practices, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Complete required documentation and administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adjust to changing program and organizational needs.

The Clinical Program Manager of CCG must possess a master’s degree in social work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field. Must have active independent (full) clinical licensure and maintain licensure while employed in this position.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience providing behavioral health or mental health services.
  • Previous clinical leadership, supervision, or program management experience required.
  • Experience working in outpatient/community-based behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and/or families preferred.
  • Experience with Medicaid, DBHDD, clinical documentation, audits, and behavioral health compliance preferred.
  • Experience using an electronic health record and monitoring clinical/program data preferred.

Licensure & Certification

  • Active Georgia clinical license required (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
  • Clinical supervision credential required (ACS, CPCS, etc).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment and leadership skills.
  • Ability to provide effective clinical consultation, coaching, and feedback.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health treatment, assessments, risk management, and documentation.

Schedule

Typically works Monday–Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Schedule is flexible based on clinic needs and may include evening hours to support children, adolescents, families, and staff.

The Clinical Program Manager is expected to maintain a consistent on-site presence at the Gwinnett Counseling Center and provide flexibility based on clinical, staffing, community, and operational needs. Schedule may change with appropriate notice based on clinic needs, special projects, community activities, or organizational priorities.
