Vaccine for Children Coordinator

Join our dedicated team as a Vaccine for Children (VFC) Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in supporting immunization programs and ensuring the effective management of vaccines for children in Georgia. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to public health initiatives by overseeing vaccine inventory, compliance, and data analysis, ultimately helping to improve health outcomes for the community.

Key Responsibilities:

- Serve as the primary contact for the Georgia Vaccine for Children (VFC) program, providing guidance and support to healthcare practices

- Conduct monthly reviews of vaccine usage, inventory, and eligibility documentation using the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transaction and Services (GRITS)

- Approve vaccine orders and ensure proper documentation and compliance with program requirements

- Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of current VFC vaccine management and storage policies and procedures

- Manage vaccine inventory, including ordering, reconciliation, and transfer of vaccines

- Monitor storage conditions, including temperature excursions, and ensure proper handling and storage of vaccines

- Prepare and submit monthly reports related to vaccine management and program compliance

- Oversee temperature monitoring and respond to any excursions to maintain vaccine integrity

- Assist healthcare providers with vaccine administration procedures and documentation

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred

- Experience in vaccine management, inventory control, or public health programs is highly desirable

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate reports

- Knowledge of immunization schedules, storage requirements, and vaccine handling protocols

- Excellent organizational and communication skills

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

- Proficiency in using electronic health records and data management systems, particularly GRITS is a plus
