Job Description
Invoca is the revenue execution and platform leader that helps marketing, commerce, and contact center teams turn every conversation into revenue. Through its AI agents, Invoca engages, qualifies, and converts customers across SMS and voice, orchestrating seamless buyer journeys and measurable, profitable growth. With over 300 employees, 2,000+ customers, and $100M in revenue, the company continues to lead the category it created. Invoca's AI vision centers on using trustworthy, first-party data to deliver intelligent, authentic, and empathetic AI — connecting digital and human experiences to build lasting customer relationships. Invoca has raised $184M from leading investors, including Upfront Ventures, Accel, Silver Lake Waterman, H.I.G. Growth Partners, and Salesforce Ventures.
The Opportunity: Define the Future of Agentic AI in the EnterpriseInvoca is an AI-powered revenue execution platform that brings together marketing, commerce, and contact center teams to turn every customer interaction into measurable, profitable growth.
By revealing intent across voice, SMS, and digital channels, Invoca helps enterprises drive better customer experiences, increase revenue, and operate with confidence at scale.
Invoca's AI Platform is the unified foundation spanning Data Intelligence, Speech AI, and Agentic AI — and the underlying infrastructure that ties them together. This is the execution layer behind Voice AI, SMS Agents, Signals, Scoring, and emerging copilots.
This is a player-coach role at the heart of Invoca's platform. You'll personally own the Agentic AI domain and scrum team — orchestration, context, governance, and evaluation for every agent Invoca runs — while leading two Product Managers who own our Data Intelligence and Speech AI domains and teams. You stay hands-on with the hardest problems while building the team and coherence across all three.
The Platform Product TeamThe Platform Product team builds the shared systems that empower every product team at Invoca to ship data-driven and AI-powered experiences with confidence — and that ultimately shape what customers experience, both through Invoca's own products and through direct integrations customers and partners build on our platform via MCP. We operate at the intersection of infrastructure, applied AI, Speech AI, and product design, sitting between internal product teams, external developers, and the customers they all serve, focusing on:
Agent execution, orchestration, and context management
Data Intelligence — ingestion, pipelines, and infrastructure powering downstream products
Speech AI — real-time, low-latency processing at scale
Evaluation, observability, and quality control
Governance, safety, and multi-tenant isolation
External extensibility — exposing platform capabilities directly to customers via MCP and other standardized interfaces, and driving adoption of them among external developers and partners
Our success is measured by leverage across that whole intersection: how many teams and external developers build on our platforms, how safely they innovate, and how quickly high-quality, trustworthy data and AI experiences reach the customers who ultimately feel them.
Your Role and ImpactAs Director of Product, AI Platform, you will personally own the product vision and roadmap for the Agentic AI domain — orchestration, context, governance, and evaluation for every agent Invoca runs — while managing two Product Managers who own the Data Intelligence and Speech AI domains respectively.
You'll set the strategic frame across all three domains and the underlying infrastructure that connects them, stay close enough to the Agentic AI work to make the hard calls yourself, and coach your PMs to do the same in theirs. You'll also own how the platform shows up externally — treating developers and partners who build on it as a distinct customer with their own acquisition, activation, and trust needs. You report to the VP of Product, with broad influence across engineering, data science, and security.
What You'll Be DoingOwn the Agentic AI domain directly — orchestration patterns, tool invocation, context handling, evaluation, and promotion gates for agents in production.
Lead and coach two PMs — owning Data Intelligence and Speech AI — setting direction, unblocking hard calls, and developing their judgment.
Set unified platform strategy across Data Intelligence, Speech AI, and Agentic AI — and the underlying infrastructure beneath them — so all three operate as one coherent system rather than three roadmaps.
Architect platform contracts — APIs, schemas, versioned artifacts — that make capabilities portable and governable across all three domains.
Own external extensibility and developer growth — define how platform capabilities are exposed directly to customers and partners via MCP and similar standardized interfaces, and drive external developer acquisition, activation, and adoption, balancing openness with governance and security.
Partner deeply with engineering on tradeoffs across latency, cost, quality, and complexity.
Drive adoption through paved roads, SDKs, and shared components across teams.
Enforce governance — evaluation workflows, observability, RBAC, auditability.
Represent the platform to executive leadership, translating investment into business outcomes.
10+ years in product management, including direct experience managing PMs, plus a track record of staying genuinely hands-on with the hardest technical problems in your own domain.
Background in engineering, computer science, or equivalent hands-on experience building complex software systems.
Strong systems-level understanding across at least two of: Agentic AI, Speech AI, and Data Intelligence.
Hands-on fluency with the modern agentic AI stack — orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, LangChain), evaluation methods (including LLM-as-judge), and memory architectures — with a strong point of view on using data as a competitive advantage: leveraging structured and unstructured signals across speech, text, and behavioral data to make agents smarter, not just faster.
Demonstrated experience defining platform contracts — APIs, configuration models, versioning, lifecycle management.
Experience running an external-facing platform product — designing or governing externally-facing APIs or protocols (e.g., MCP, public SDKs, partner integrations) where security, versioning, and backward compatibility have real customer impact, and driving developer acquisition and adoption as a product motion, not just internal rollout.
Track record of taking ownership of an ambiguous or underperforming platform area and establishing clear direction.
Experience operating in enterprise, multi-tenant environments where privacy, security, and compliance are core constraints.
Exceptional communication skills — able to align engineering, data science, product, and GTM stakeholders, and represent platform strategy to executive leadership.
