At LandLocked Aviation we perform aircraft refinishing and maintenance on commercial, corporate, and military aircraft. We're hiring an A&P mechanic to serve as a Quality Control Inspector. This person owns preliminary, in-process, and final inspection on every aircraft that moves through our hangar, and who helps protect our Repair Station Certificate.
This is hands-on aviation work. You'll be on the floor, on the aircraft, in the technical data.

- Perform preliminary, in-process, and final inspections across the aircraft refinishing and maintenance process, verifying compliance with FAA regulations and customer requirements.
- Interpret and apply technical maintenance manuals, SRMs, engineering orders, customer maintenance programs, blueprints, and drawings.
- Build and close out work packages with complete, accurate, audit-ready documentation.
- Inspect for corrosion, surface prep, coating adhesion, film thickness, masking integrity, and finish defects, plus associated sheet metal and structural work.
- Use precision measurement tools and established inspection techniques to verify conformity.
- Mentor and train technicians on quality standards, inspection process, and customer-specific requirements.
- Help maintain the integrity of our FAA Part 145 Repair Station Certificate and our quality manual, including RII and buy-back procedures.
- Support internal audits and customer audits.
Required:
- Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
- Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43, 91, and 145 and the ability to find and follow approved technical data.
- Ability to read and interpret aircraft technical data, drawings, and specifications.
- Comfortable documenting your own work legibly and completely.
- Available for full-time, on-site work in Lake Charles, 8–10 hour shifts, with flexibility to work weekends as needed.
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Preferred (not required — apply anyway):
- Prior QC / quality inspector or final inspector experience in a Part 145 repair station.
- Hands-on aircraft maintenance experience as an A&P mechanic or aircraft maintenance technician (AMT).
- Aircraft paint, refinishing, coatings, or corrosion control background.
- Aircraft sheet metal or structures experience.
- Experience with corporate, commercial (Part 121/135), or military aircraft programs.
- Familiarity with NDT methods, or coating inspection (mil thickness, adhesion testing).
