Granger Construction is looking for an Electrical Estimator to join our growing Preconstruction team. In this role, you'll help shape projects long before construction begins by developing accurate estimates, evaluating risks and opportunities, and partnering with project teams, trade partners, and customers to deliver exceptional outcomes.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents to understand project scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams throughout the preconstruction process.
- Analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure competitive pricing and project alignment.
- Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.
- Maintain accurate estimating documentation and project records.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, codes, and regulations affecting electrical construction.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or Journeyman/Master Electrician with an associate degree.
- 2-5 years of estimating, construction, electrical, or related experience.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, safety and security, and communications infrastructure.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and construction technology platforms. Estimating software experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Hands-on electrical field experience.
- A builder's mindset with a passion for finding creative solutions.
- Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust-based relationships.
