Nurs-Health Promotion & Development - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26004441)
The Communications Manager's home department is Health Promotion and Development within the School of Nursing. They support multiple university programs relating to Alzheimer's disease and related dementias with communications, marketing, promotion, and administrative aspects of research and education materials targeted to researchers, trainees, and the community.
- Develops materials for community-focused public health communications campaigns to improve risk reduction (primary prevention) and early detection and diagnosis (secondary prevention) of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias
- Develops newsletters, social media coverage, and website content for the Pitt Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) and related studies
- Develops or obtains from other sources (e.g., National Institutes of Health) educational materials for interested parties relevant to the ADRC and related studies
- Manages all aspects (e.g., scheduling, promotion, and accreditation) of the ADRC's Topics at Noon continuing education seminar series
- Coordinates the ADRC's Observing the Diagnostic Evaluation Program
- Other duties as assigned
Executes University communications and marketing strategies for a program or unit. Oversees print and electronic communications, subsequent media promotion, and development of a content marketing plan. Tracks and evaluates marketing strategies. Guides staff. Ensures consistent messaging and maintains University brand and style.
Essential Functions
Develops, implements, and executes communications and marketing strategies and objectives while adhering to strict branding and style guidelines. Facilitates objectives and strategies for program/units.
• Oversees the design, planning, and implementation of university print and electronic communications including, but not limited to, accreditation materials/reports, annual reports, brochures, magazines, event invitations and programs, and the school website.
• Promotes the University’s marketing efforts through various media including, but not limited to, print, electronic, mail, and internet. Tracks, evaluates, revises, and reports on all marketing strategies.
• Develops a content management plan across mediums to ensure consistent messaging and image in production of key communications materials. Tracks, evaluates, revises, and reports on communication strategies.
• Provides guidance to other departmental staff.

Hiring Range: $48,743.04---$64,989.96/year
