About the Agency:
We are a non-profit organization located in the Miami Gardens area.
About the Role:
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides supervision and leadership to Clinic Providers; works closely with Clinic Manager and Chief Executive Officer to ensure that services are provided appropriately and efficiently. This position also provides medical care to patients in the Clinic and drives innovation and excellence in public health services. The CMO will also align medical practices with the organization's mission and public expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited school of medicine and licensed in the state. Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Five years’ experience beyond residency preferred. Board Certified in a primary care specialty.
- Experience in Community Health and in working with clients from lower economic status.
- Licensed to practice medicine in Florida.
- DEA License
- Admitting privileges in local hospitals.
- A valid Florida Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Public Health (MPH), Healthcare Administration (MHA), or related field.
- Experience working within government or public sector healthcare organizations.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale public health programs and emergency response initiatives.
- Strong background in health informatics and data analytics.
- Familiarity with legislative processes and health policy advocacy.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews, formulates and implements clinical protocols and provides training to staff on current clinical protocols and priorities;
- Develop and implement comprehensive public health policies and programs in alignment with governmental regulations and community needs;
- Responsible for on-call schedule and coordination of the health clinic admissions;
- Provide expert medical advice and guidance on health-related issues and emerging medical trends;
- Provides training and oversight of all clinical personnel;
- Directs and/or participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of appropriate standards of care, quality assurance indicators, patient care protocols and medical records;
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and ethical conduct;
- Serves as Chairperson of Credentialing and Privileging Committee;
- Serves as Chairperson of Joint CQI Committee and oversees the QI/QA program;
- Oversees QA/QI Program;
- Collaborate with external agencies, healthcare institutions, and community organizations to foster partnerships and enhance public health outcomes;
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health programs, utilizing data-driven approaches to inform continuous improvement;
- Assists in identifying solutions to local access to healthcare needs and coordinating community/regional outreach and health promotion programs;
- Review dental related OSHA safety and infection control issues;
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships to actively address operational challenges owning corrective action plans and delivery of results;
- Coordinates activities with the Dental Team for project management in support of new capabilities, changes initiated, and process improvement initiatives with other dental support areas (including Product, Clinical, Provider, Underwriting, etc.
