What We're Looking For:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field preferred; Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of social services experience required.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience with a proven ability to lead diverse teams, inspire staff, and drive high-quality service delivery.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a track record of effectively managing priorities, overseeing multiple responsibilities, and ensuring timely follow-through.
  • Experience developing, mentoring, and managing staff while fostering a positive and accountable team culture.
  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills.
  • Valid New Jersey Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle when an agency vehicle is not available.

Job Description/Summary

The Supervisor is responsible for managing the team and supervising the Specialists in their day-to-day implementation of LifeSet, a model to address the needs of young people who are transitioning out of care and need individualized skill development and support to transition successfully into adulthood, specifically obtaining and maintaining safe and suitable housing, continuing their education, learning independent living skills, obtaining and maintaining employment, building a support system.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of 5 Specialists who service three counties,
  • Responsible for hiring staff, and performance management of Specialists, offers opportunities for

    professional development and training.

  • Conducts weekly case review and facilitation of the group supervision process

  • Oversees service plan development and ensures case progress.

  • Competencies

  • Demonstrates ability to practice all job requirements on an accurate, timely basis and on a regular basis by
  • (1) Producing required work assignments in an accurate and prompt manner.
  • (2) Performing job responsibilities in a professional manner.
  • (3) Observing appropriate boundaries with clients and maintaining professional conduct with clients, co-workers and supervisor(s).
  • (4) Seeking supervision in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • (5) Attending all scheduled meetings as required.
  • (6) Meeting relevant continuing education requirements.
  • (7) Performing all other duties as assigned;
  • Demonstrates flexibility to work in the field and office within the 4 assigned counties.
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain confidentiality in department’s daily operations by ensuring that confidentiality guidelines are met in the daily interaction between staff, clients, visitors, students, volunteers and vendors. Review of confidentiality with staff and immediately reports breaches in confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates ability to evaluate staff’s productivity and performance and address/documents deficits as needed. Accurately completes performance appraisals on a timely basis for all assigned staff.
  • Demonstrates ability to ensure department/program complies with agency policies and procedures and demonstrates the ability to understand department standards to ensure continued quality assurance and management, safety regulations and staff development and retention.
  • Qualifications

  • Education - Master’s degree in field of social work, psychology or other directly related human services field with experience is preferred. Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 5 years of experience in social
    services required.
  • Experience - Supervisory experience and strong leadership skills with proven success leading with vision, managing diverse teams, and having a record of intensity in delivering services is required.
  • License - Valid NJ Driver’s License withaccess to a personal vehicle.
