Located in Duluth, GA, Koh Young America has been serving business partners in North America with sales and technical support since 2010. In addition to KYA’s sales and support for North America, Koh Young Research America was established in 2016 in San Diego, CA as a Research & Development hub for artificial intelligence and deep learning technologies.

Summary

The MES Engineer is responsible for developing, installing, and maintaining Koh Young’s MES and software solutions for customers across the Americas (USA, Canada, Mexico, and South America).

This role serves as a technical expert on system architecture, data standardization, and communication protocols to connect Koh Young inspection systems with upper-level manufacturing systems.

The MES Engineer provides high-quality technical support both remotely and on-site to ensure smooth data communication, system stability, and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Responsibility
  • Develop and build customized MES solutions tailored to customer needs across the Americas (USA, Canada, Mexico, and South America).

  • Standardize complex customer MES data requirements, design communication architectures, and document software integration specifications.

  • Gather feedback and technical issues from field service engineers and customers, communicating closely with HQ to guide MES product development and improvements.

  • Provide remote technical support as a helpdesk agent for MES development and installation, quickly resolving communication errors and system issues.

  • Deliver high-level technical support through customer site visits, including MES installation, system setup, evaluations, and user/engineer training.

  • Collaborate with sales teams on MES technical consulting, lead customer meetings, review project quotations, draft proposals, and demonstrate solutions at trade shows.

  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of Koh Young systems and MES tools, while training internal engineers on the latest MES protocols.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Systems or related.

  • 3+ years, strong programming skills in C#, C/C++, Java, SQL, Python, JavaScript.

  • 2+ years, Web Services, TCP/IP Communication, parsers, etc.

  • 2+ years, of advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux-based OS.

  • 1+ year, of experience in IPC-CFX, IPC-HERMES, SECS/GEM, iTAC, or any other standard preferred.

  • 1+ year, SPI and AOI programming, operation, and maintenance preferred.

  • Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written) to negotiate with HQ R&D and global clients. (Bilingual candidates who speak Spanish or Korean are highly preferred.)

  • Strong interpersonal, and project management skills to balance various stakeholder interests.

  • Excellent problem-solving and crisis-management skills to handle unexpected on-site issues calmly.
