Job Description
Under the supervision of the Director of Administrative Services, Maintenance Technician will oversee the maintenance of all agency's service vehicles and operational equipment. This role is essential for ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency across the agency's fleet, while maintaining integrity of inventory and asset control.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Included but not limited to the following);
- Establish and implement best practice methods for all operations to optimize maintenance time and costs
- Formulate metrics to ensure effective management of maintenance, safety, and mechanical performance, and communicate these practices throughout the organization
- Ensure that external maintenance vendors meet internal service quality standards, offer competitive pricing, and respond effectively to company needs.
- Recommend proactive and corrective action plans to Executive Leadership as necessary
- Ensure adherence to corporate asset disposal standards and maintain comprehensive documentation for OSHA, DOT, and company compliance
- Manage the registrations, license plates, required permits, and asset inventory for insurance purposes
- Investigate and document all incidents involving vehicle and equipment accidents, including root cause analyses and necessary follow-up actions, such as employee accountability and recertification
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Proven experience in providing logistical communication support
- Excellent interpersonal skills for customer service
- Must be a self-starter, possessing strong time management skills
- Ability to effectively communicate across organizational levels
- Ability to utilize independent judgment
- Current SC driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to work overtime as needed; some overnight, out of town travel may be required
- Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years demonstrated experience in maintenance.
- Must have a valid SC Driver's License.
