Area of Research: Transcriptional regulation and cell signaling, stem cells and their niches, oncogenesis and prostate cancer, androgen signaling and steroid hormone action, aging and cellular senescence, targeting therapies for prostate cancer
Responsibilities
Position description: This position is designed for self-motivated and determined individuals who have great desire to learn and work in the research fields of Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology and Genetics. The candidate will directly work on scientific projects that investigate the regulatory mechanisms underlying prostate development and tumorigenesis using different experimental procedures, analytic tools, and relevant animal models.
Responsibilities include: The responsibilities for this position include making reagents, ordering lab supplies, performing in vivo and in vitro experimental procedures, analyzing data. The candidates should be able to work under stress in order to meet deadlines. He/she should also be able to assist the PI to handle and organize different routine lab tasks.
The person will:
- Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures;
- Require occasional guidance;
- Occasionally be responsible for ordering routine supplies;
- Rarely modify technical procedures;
- Rarely train other lab members;
- Rarely guide other lab members;
- A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required;
- Rarely interpret data;
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Required to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a related science or equivalent skills and related experience, and zero to two years of related experience.
At least one-year experience in biomedical related research preferred.
