Reporting to the Director of Patient Access the Pre Arrival Manager responsible for organizing, planning, and monitoring daily operations for the pre-registration, patient scheduling, and insurance authorization functions and is responsible for the performance and effectiveness of the department(s). The Pre Arrival Manager will be responsible for identifying and implementing strategies to improve processes, promote operational efficiency enhance the patient experience, and meet regulatory compliance guidelines. This requires active engagement and collaboration with operational leaders and staff. The Pre Arrival Manager will work closely with the other leaders and staff to align policies and processes across the entire organization.
Ability to provide vision, leadership, and operational oversight for financial clearance and insurance verification
Ability to actively lead and/or participate in modernizing the financial clearance and insurance authorization processes
Ability to organize functions through establishing clear accountabilities, delegation of duties and appropriate departmentalization without creating silos.
Ensures staff are aware and compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, etc.
Actively focus on activities that support employee engagement, including coaching & mentoring
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Training/Experience:

REQUIRED:
-
Current knowledge of Patient Access related regulations and compliance issue with third-party payers
-
Experienced with Excel and analysis of data
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Excellent customer services skills and ability to independently problem-solve

Ability to work in a fast pace environment

PREFERRED:

Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred
-
Extensive experience (minimum 5 years, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role) in Patient Access, Pre Access Services, or related field in a hospital or large ambulatory clinic setting.

Extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance issues, medical terminology, ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT coding, and pre-certifications and verifications

Required: The ability to maintain confidentiality is a requirement. Must be able to work hours and days as needed based on departmental/system demands and recognize the possibility of being on-call.
