| Job Summary | A paid part time lab-technician position in Molecular Biology is available for a student or recent graduate with a strong desire to learn molecular, cellular or neuronal biological techniques in the Cai lab. The student should be in a program to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree. Prior experimental experience, biology major or pre-med major is a plus. Cai lab NIH supported studies focus on three aspects 1) the role of glial cells in modulating neural circuit in neurodegenerative diseases such as alzheimer’s disease. 2) the role of glial cells in neuronal metabolism and diabetes. 3) the role of glial cells in dopaminergic neural circuit and motivational behavior. The work involves modern molecular and cellular biology techniques, such as cloning, RT-PCR, Western Blots, cell culture and also RNA sequencing, brain surgery etc. The working hours are flexible after a training period. The anticipated stay is at least for one year. The goal is to obtain quality data and contribute to the publication of research articles. |
