Staff Accountant in Richmond, Virginia at Worth Higgins & Associates Inc

Worth Higgins & Associates, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team with option for hybrid remote work schedule. The ideal candidate will be a financial professional with 3+ years of related work experience in an accounting setting. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business management is preferred. Four years of financial or accounts receivable work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities and qualifications

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing and review; responsible for ensuring timely payment collections and disbursements
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports and play a part in month end, quarter end and year end closing process
• Perform account reconciliations and journal entries
• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with an advanced knowledge of Excel, including but not limited to VLOOKUP and pivot tables
• Ability to develop macros and automate repetitive tasks is a plus
