Job Summary:
RAS Legal Group, a $100M+ revenue, 18 office, 1000+ employee legal and professional
services firm based in Boca Raton, is seeking a Director of Automation and AI to lead the
firm’s AI transformation. This high-visibility role will report directly to the CIO and work
closely with the executive team to design, implement, and scale AI/automation solutions that
drive measurable business impact.
The ideal candidate will develop and execute a 2–4-year AI roadmap, leveraging
automation to streamline legal workflows, enhance efficiency, and reduce operational costs.
This role requires a blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution, ensuring that AI driven
solutions align with business objectives.
The Director will be empowered with resources, executive support, and
decision-making authority to drive transformation and will play a key role in shaping the
firm's long-term technology strategy.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
? Define and lead the firm’s AI/automation strategy, ensuring alignment with
business goals.
? Lead and expand a team of ~7-10 automation and AI engineers; oversee hiring and team
growth as needed.
? Drive executive buy-in and cross-functional collaboration across business and
technology units to accelerate adoption.
? Develop a data-driven approach to measure and communicate the financial and
operational impact of AI initiatives.
AI/Automation Implementation & Execution
? Work with business divisions and technology team to identify and prioritize
automation opportunities.
? Develop and execute an 18-month AI/automation roadmap, including pilot
programs, scaling initiatives, and technology investments.
? Oversee end-to-end automation implementation —from process discovery to
deployment and ongoing refinement.
? Evaluate, select, and manage third-party AI vendors and automation tools to
complement in-house capabilities.
? Establish KPIs for automation success, including cost reduction, efficiency gains, and
legal process improvements.
? Ensure AI systems comply with legal industry standards, security, and ethical
considerations.
? Stay ahead of emerging AI technologies and integrate best practices into the firm’s
automation strategy.
? Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in GenAI, ML, MLOps, and
LLMOps, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our AI
systems.
? Applies analytical rigor and statistical/ML methods to analyze large amounts of data,
using advanced statistical techniques.
? Identifies meaningful insights from “big data” sources. Assists in the coordination of
various research initiatives. Serves as an internal consultant in identifying
opportunities to improve decision making through the application of analytical
concepts and techniques.
? Demonstrated aptitude in Python with hands-on experience implementing production
machine learning systems
? Skilled with relational databases and programming languages, such as SQL, Python, scikitlearn,
TensorFlow, and shell scripting
Skills and qualifications
Required:
? Proven leadership experience managing AI, automation, or technology teams.
? Hands-on experience implementing AI and automation solutions, including
o RPA, AI agents, and legal tech.
? Strong ability to communicate AI solutions to both technical and non-technical
stakeholders.
? Experience leading cross-functional collaboration with business leaders
? Experience with legal and professional services is a plus
? Experience: 2+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, software development, or a
related field, with a focus on GenAI and ML.
? Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field is
required.
? An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field is preferred, emphasizing
computer science, machine learning, robotics, or business management.
? Strong understanding of computer vision, NLP, and predictive analytics.
? A minimum of 2 years’ experience using tools in at least one cloud computing platform
such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
? Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) preferred
