Department Purpose
The Basic Needs Center will oversee day-to-day programming for the grant, developing partnerships, and working directly with students to provide services.Position Summary
The Project Coordinator will oversee day-to-day programming for the grant, including managing the Basic Needs Center, developing partnerships, and working directly with success coaches, other college staff and students to provide services.
This position has been identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) in accordance with Department of Education guidelines. As a CSA, the incumbent is required to report crimes that they become aware of to the Department of Public Safety and must attend related annual training.
Essential Functions
Operations and Administration
- Develop and operate the Basic Needs Center as part of the Student Support and Outreach department.
- Create policies and procedures related to the Center and its services.
- Oversee the budget and all expenditures, collect data, and write/submit periodic reports (in conjunction with the Project Director).
Student Support and Services
- Provide direct support to students and coordinate services with other staff at PCC’s main and satellite campuses.
- Develop guidelines and applications for support and work with the marketing department to ensure the program is reaching targeted students.
Program Development and Evaluation
- Plan and market workshops for students.
- Develop pre- and post-surveys of students served.
- Work with the Steering Committee to analyze programs and make decisions.
Data and Reporting
- Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Research and analyze it in conjunction with the Project Director.
- Collect data and submit periodic reports (in conjunction with the Project Director).

- Communicates effectively with students, colleagues, and others.
- Interacts professionally and respectfully with students, colleagues, and others.
- Assesses individual and department work processes and recommends improvements.
- Complies with State Fiscal Rules, State Board policies, System and College protocols, and departmental procedures.
- Obtains and maintains proficiency with required systems and equipment.
- Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information as required.
- Completes all required compliance training within the established timeline.
- Serves on committees and other groups as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience
- Ability to track services through Excel or other spreadsheets.
- Experience working with underserved/marginalized populations, especially college students.
- Data collection and analysis experience.
- Prior experience in a social service-related position.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing reports and developing/presenting.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of laws, accreditation standards, and best practices pertaining to state or federal grant administration.
- Ability to read and understand a multi-year budget.
- Experience developing, disseminating, and analyzing surveys.
- Demonstrates ability to collaborate with multiple department/individuals.
