Job Description

Work collaboratively to direct the ongoing planning, assessment, development, effective implementation and evaluation of physical rehabilitation services and programs. These activities are based on community needs, standards of care and practice, the strategic directions of the organization, and future trends. Responsible for the identification, development and implementation of appropriate systems, standards, and policies within the physical rehabilitation services. Responsible for maintaining and developing appropriate levels of qualified staff and for assuring ongoing staff competency. In collaboration with the CNO, develops business plan for therapy services within department budgets. Maintains operations based on established parameters. Maximizes reimbursement for services provided. Monitor operations to ensure regulatory compliance. Monitor access to care within the rehabilitation services continuum and create systems to facilitate access to appropriate levels of care in acceptable timeframes. Designs/maintains a quality management program that facilitates the monitoring of services rendered and provides for the identification and resolution of problems with delivery of services and opportunities for improvement. Ensures compliance with all Standards of Conduct, legal regulatory standards and medical center policies and in area of responsibility. Maintains a functional and effective inter- and intra- departmental communication network and collaborative culture focused on effective customer service, teamwork and service performance. Encourages team spirit and enthusiasm in the staff by demonstrating a positive attitude and an ability to work with others in a collegial manner. Promotes and supports a culture built on trust, communication, teamwork and a bias for action.Ensure fair treatment of all employees by maintaining objectivity and by equitable application of policies.

May be required to perform other duties of lesser, equal or greater levels of responsibility. Assumes responsibility for organizational initiatives as delegated by senior management or Office of the President.
