Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Journeyman Electrician contributes to the operational reliability of utility systems, life safety systems, non medical equipment, and other operational components of the facilities. The position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of equipment and building features, ensuring necessary documentation is completed. The position completes electrical maintenance, coordinates electrical installations throughout the facility, and serves as the technical expert with all building electrical systems. The position trains and supports Facilities Engineers in electrical troubleshooting appropriate to their position. The position completes other assigned duties within the Facilities Engineering Department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- State of Alaska Electrician Journeyman Certificate of Fitness
- 5 years of experience working as an apprentice and journey level Electrician in the construction, residential or commercial industry required
- Must have basic computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Internet Explorer. Demonstrated competence with equipment management systems within the probationary period.
PREFERRED:
- 5 years of experience in Electrical at a Hospital
- Siemens Advanced Operator Certification
