RN Staff at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

This 12-bed stepdown Intermediate Care Unit monitors and cares for moderately critical patients. It offers a challenging and fast-paced environment for the motivated professional. The RN will be responsible for managing the care of adult patients requiring close observation and advanced nursing interventions, including the titration of drips. These patients require a higher level of care than the typical medical/surgical patient, but do not require admission to the Intensive Care Unit. The lower nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 allows the nurse to collaborate with the healthcare delivery team, the patients and their families for a coordinated plan of care. Support staff are available on the unit and compliment the team. The ideal candidate is a team player, detail-oriented, and open to new challenges.

Orientation is a structured program of 14 weeks with a preceptor; it will also include cross training in our ICU. ACLS is required and may be obtained through the Career Institute free of charge to employees. We welcome new graduates.
