About This Position
CREDENTIALING COORDINATOR
MSH is a 319 bed, level one trauma, non-for-profit, hospital located in the Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago. Mount Sinai Hospital is a proud member of Sinai Chicago.
- This is a hybrid position: On site Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and work from home Monday and Fridays. At any given time, this could change based on the needs of the department.
- Assures every physician has a "Credentials File" which contains:
- Signed Application, current CV, ECFMG Certification (as needed), Board Certification Status, and current copy of malpractice coverage;
- Current Illinois License; Current DEA Certificate; Current (within the last year) NPDB inquiry; Pertinent information surrounding any negatives in Application; and Credentials Committee approval/denial letter.
- Maintains internal database, MD Staff, where all physician's information is stored.
- Extremely familiar with CAQH, Medicare and Medicaid submissions and the State Template.
- Submission of provider rosters to the individual Health Plans for new and terminated providers along with any other changes for example location changes
- Must be efficient in utilizing excel spreadsheets.
- Must be efficient in time management of assignments.
The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of credentialing and re-credentialing of health care professionals. This position ensures all health care professionals are appropriately credentialed, which includes the responsibility of maintaining current information on file and within the credentialing database. This position primarily works independently, but frequently coordinates with other team members, Credentialing Manager and Medical Director.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalency, associate degree preferred
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Highly proficient with the use of computers – Word, Excel, and Access
- Three years of experience with multi-specialty Physician groups is highly preferred.

- CMSC is preferred
