About This Position
CPLC's Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs are committed to giving every child, regardless of circumstances at birth, an opportunity to succeed in school and life. Provides full-day, full-year early childhood development services to low income children, ages 0-3 years, and their families in educationally-stimulating learning environments. Migrant Head Start program provides full-day, full-year program services to children, ages 0-5 years, of migrant and seasonal farm and agriculture working families where hand-picked and row crops are prevalent.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Family Service Worker will collaborate with families in a partnership process that identifies the family needs, interests, strengths, goals, and resources needed to support the family’s well- being. The Family Service and Engagement Worker is the family’s liaison to program and community services and will connect assigned families to services that promote healthy, safety, and economic stability. The Family Service and Engagement Worker will be expected to conduct family engagement services and activities in the family’s preferred language to the extent possible. Promotes school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success as it relates to this position. Actively supervise children by sight and sound at all times and in all environments. Maintain all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment. Facilitate health practices to keep children safe in the school bus, outdoor and indoor environments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education /Background:
- Within eighteen months of hire, at a minimum, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field is required.
- An associate degree in early childhood education (ECE), social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field is preferred.
- 2 years’ experience working in an early childhood education environment also preferred.
- Experience in working with culturally diverse and low-income families preferred.
