REI is seeing a night shift Production Manager. In this fast-paced 24/7 environment, the Production Manager will manage the daily operation of the night shift Lamination and Face Coating processes to achieve all SEQCD targets. Working 8:30pm-5am, the Production Manager will troubleshoot issues to recover the line as needed, identify root causes, and recommend long term improvements as well as communication process status and escalate issues based on requirements.

The Production Manager will:

  • Model the “safety first” behaviors we expect of all employees by ensuring that operational procedures and processes are performed safely and provide a safe work environment.
  • Monitor the condition of the product quality, operational performance, process settings, and the material. Make necessary proactive adjustments to ensure daily SEQCD targets are achieved.
  • Review production reports for accuracy and trends. Track and consolidate productivity and quality statistics. Generate productivity and quality reports for management review.
  • Support the resolution of production, EH&S, and product quality issues. Lead or directly participate in the problem investigation (root cause analysis) and resolution (corrective action). Monitor and document results and escalate issues to management and/or other functional areas (e.g. Maint., Eng., R&D) when additional support is needed.
  • Write and update SOPs and train supervisors to ensure full understanding and proper skillset to perform their essential job duties and achieve SEQCD targets. Monitor adherence to policy, standards, and work rules.
  • Ensure key process parameters are monitored and controlled, verify autonomous Preventive Maintenance activities are value added, and monitor and identify 5S improvements within the process.
  • Lead Kaizen activities to drive continuous improvement in quality, equipment, and other 5S within the work unit.
  • Participate in the testing and implementation of new products, processes, and equipment. Monitor the process and gathers data.
  • Monitor production supply inventories and communicate needs to purchasing depts.

        Technical/other training or better in Engineering or related field.

        Experience
        Required
        Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing operation required.
        Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience required.
        Must have hands-on production equipment and processes setting experience as well as troubleshooting and basic repair, autonomous preventative maintenance experience.
        Intermediate skills in Office 364 (Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel) required.
        Thorough knowledge of ISO 14000 required.
        Working knowledge of mechanical systems (gears, bearings, cylinders) required.
        4M root cause analysis skills and basic statistical analysis required.
        Must be flexible to adjust work hours to cover supervisor vacations and call outs as needed.
        Preferred
        Working knowledge of AS400/MRP system preferred.
        Lean manufacturing concepts preferred.
        Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.
