POSITION SCOPE
The Editor will be an integral part of turning the Communications Department into an Alamo Newsroom and supporting the Education Departments Distance Learning Lab.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work alongside Associate Director of Public Relation and the Videographer to engineer the live stream of all ATI press events such as groundbreakings, grand openings, ribbon cuttings, unveilings, announcements, etc.
Maintain and recommend multimedia equipment of cameras, lighting, audio, and editing tools inside the Alamos Distance Learning Lab
Provide engineering for backpack live unit that news outlets could use to easily access content from press events or pre-booked live segments
Produce, edit, and post video segments that can be used in distance learning experiences and online learning
Work alongside Distance Learning Educator to engineer seamless digital classroom experiences
Participate in team meetings to prioritize production content
Work alongside the Videographer to produce high-quality videos commissioned by Alamo departments including collections, education, archaeology, living history, development, and human resources
Work alongside the Videographer to maintain video archive for easy sharing with stakeholders and press
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, or another area of relevance to the Alamo mission. History background a plus!
Experience producing high-quality storytelling videos for different audiences.
Strong digital editing skills.
Experience with backpack live units.
A strong understanding of what makes a powerful narrative and how it is best repeated across audiences and platforms.
Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-profile environment, managing multiple projects, competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Flexibility to adjust schedule when necessary to accommodate history-based events and travel.
Strong team-orientation and professional attitude.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Drone certification a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS & EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION
Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Bilingual a plus.
Must be able to provide documents establishing identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
