Certified Medical Assistant Job Opening at Ute Mountain Ute Health Center, Towaoc, CO for Indian Health Service


Join Our Team: The Indian Health Service (IHS), Albuquerque Area Office (AAO), Southern Colorado Ute Service Unit (SCUSU) is seeking two dedicated Certified Medical Assistants to join our team at the Ute Mountain Ute Health Center. . If you are passionate about providing high-quality health care in an outpatient setting and have experience in Family Medicine, we invite you to apply.

Your Role: As a Medical Assistant, you will deliver direct patient care to diverse age groups including Pediatric, Geriatric, Adolescent, and Adult patients, under the supervision of physicians and in line with their medical plans of care. You will work in departments such as Family Practice, Pediatrics, and Womens Health. Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments and participating in the treatment planning and implementation for each patient.
Operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment.
Administering medications and performing therapeutic measures as prescribed.
Conducting lab tests like urinalysis, pregnancy tests, and blood glucose monitoring.
Performing phlebotomy and documenting all patient interactions and care provided.
Coordinating with the care team to ensure holistic patient care.
Maintaining certifications including American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

What We Require:
Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA) with current BLS certification.
Proven experience in Family Medicine within the last 12 months.
Ability to effectively communicate in English and work with multicultural patients.
Capability to work independently, make critical decisions, and manage emergencies effectively.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of competence, conduct, appearance, and integrity.

Work Schedule: You will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding federal holidays. This position does not require on-call, weekend, or holiday shifts.

Pay Range: $50,000/Year - $60,000/Year
