Job Overview

Agape Construction Company is seeking an experienced Lead Framing Carpenter to join our Field Operations team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing and performing the demolition and framing phases of high-end residential remodeling projects. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Lead Framing Carpenter ensures projects stay on schedule, within budget, and meet Agapes high standards of craftsmanshipwhile maintaining a positive, professional relationship with homeowners and crew members.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and perform all demolition and rough framing activities on residential remodeling projects

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, change orders, and carpentry documents

  • Complete accurate material takeoffs and coordinate material ordering

  • Layout and install walls, floor systems, roof framing, stairs, siding, decks, porches, and exterior trim

  • Read Truss packages and set trusses; calculate rafters and construct stick-built roof framing using framing squares

  • Perform demolition work, including lead testing and abatement when required

  • Coordinate daily activities with the Project Manager and subcontractors

  • Schedule inspections and ensure work meets applicable building codes

  • Oversee, train, and mentor apprentices and carpenters on the crew

  • Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the project

  • Maintain daily jobsite documentation, including field books, punch lists, and daily diaries

  • Accurately track time daily using the company timekeeping system

  • Follow all Agape Construction policies and procedures

  • Adhere strictly to company safety policies, attend safety trainings, report incidents promptly, and contribute to a safe jobsite environment

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of residential carpentry experience preferred (minimum 6 years required)

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage crews and direct daily work

  • Excellent blueprint reading, layout, and structural framing knowledge

  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical codes

  • Ability to perform material takeoffs and project layouts independently

  • Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors

  • Strong communication skills and a professional, team-oriented attitude

  • Physically able to perform demanding carpentry work, including lifting up to 75 lbs., climbing ladders/scaffolding, and working at heights

  • Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and consistent attendance

  • Ability to maintain a clean, professional appearance while wearing company-issued clothing

  • A background check will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
