Laser Operator - 2nd Shift at Cemen Tech – Indianola, Iowa

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To operate the laser table, nest and cut parts from sheets of metal which vary in thickness, unload parts for table and route them to the next operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

More specifically, the person will:

Run the laser table to cut parts.Operate an overhead crane.Read blueprints to match the cut file to the blueprint.Pull a list of parts and figure out the best possible way to nest them on a sheet of metal.Performs re-work as required.Maintain and order stock to ensure the correct amount is always on hand.Unload parts from the table onto carts and route the parts to the next operation.Follow established safety and quality procedures.

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS High School Diploma/GED.Knowledge of overhead crane and forklift operation.Ability to read blueprints and tape measures.1 to 2 years’ laser operating experience required.Must be a self-starter that is detail oriented and can work with minimal supervision.Ability to use or learn Sigmanest software a plus.Experience checking for and recognizing defectively cut parts preferred.
