BACK OF HOUSE KEY/SHIFT LEADERS work alongside store leadership to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently while delivering high-quality food and supporting the team during the shift. In this developmental role, the BOH Key Leader is responsible for overseeing back-of-house execution and helping ensure a high-energy, organized, and seamless shift for both team members and guests. The fundamentals of the role include maintaining food quality and consistency, supporting and holding the kitchen team accountable, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met, and contributing to the overall success of the shift.
THE BASICS
- Leads and supports the BOH team to execute a smooth, organized, and efficient shift
- Responsible for ensuring all food is prepared to company standards for quality, consistency, and presentation
- Helps ensure the kitchen is stocked, prepped, and ready for service throughout the shift
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of all menu items and BOH stations
- Ensure the kitchen team maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe working environment throughout the shift
- Follow essential operational policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal health and food safety regulations
- Participate in coaching and training BOH team members throughout the shift
- Support service flow by monitoring ticket times, kitchen communication, and food accuracy
- Maintain strong communication with FOH leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Maintain the flow of the shift by monitoring kitchen operations and stepping into stations when needed
- Perform additional responsibilities (as requested) at any time

PRE-REQs
- 18 years of age or older
- Legally permitted to work in the United States (we participate in E-Verify)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Team player with a positive attitude and works with a sense of urgency
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Can work in both hot and cool environments
- Self-accountable in upholding high standards
- Ability to delegate, follow up, and properly hold team members accountable
- Able to work in a fast-paced setting for up to 8 hours daily, or as needed
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Must go through certification in all BOH positions
- Must pass food Safety Certification and necessary on-the-job validation and assessments
