Internship Overview:
Ibility is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to support brand storytelling, content development, and external visibility efforts. This internship is ideal for students interested in marketing, communications, journalism, storytelling, public relations, or brand strategy, particularly those curious about government consulting, veteran-owned businesses, and purpose-driven leadership.
Working Conditions & Location: Remote / Hybrid (Kansas City, MO)
Duration: 10 weeks
Hours: 10-20 hours/week
Key Responsibilities: - Conduct interviews with Ibility employees to document organizational leadership perspectives, career pathways, and mission-driven experiences
- Develop story-telling packages, including narratives, pitch materials, and talking points
- Translate core messaging into multiple formats to support marketing, communications, and external outreach efforts
- Research and identify relevant podcasts, publications, interviews, and speaking opportunities aligned with government contracting, Veterans services, and leadership communities
- Support outreach preparation by drafting pitch blurbs and introductory content for external engagement
- Research government contracting (GovCon) awards and industry recognitions applicable to the organization and its team members
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Lead and Graphic Designer to align written and visual storytelling
Skills and Areas of Interest:
- Storytelling, narrative development, and interview-based writing
- Marketing, communications, public relations, or brand strategy
- Research and synthesis of complex professional backgrounds
- Writing for different audiences (executive, media, public facing)
- Attention to detail and ability to translate ideas into polished content
- Time management in a remote or hybrid environment
- Professional written and verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications:
- Majors: Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Strategic Communications, Business, or related fields
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Comfort conducting interviews and synthesizing qualitative information
- Interest in government consulting, veteran-owned businesses, or mission-driven organizations
- Experience with content creation, storytelling, or portfolio-based projects
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a distributed team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative virtual environment
- Detail-oriented consulting approach, with client service focus
- Self-starter - can work independently and within a team
Learning Objectives:
- Develop real-world experience in executive storytelling, brand positioning, and thought leadership development
- Learn how marketing and communications function within a federal consulting and GovCon environment
- Build a portfolio-ready project centered on interviewing, narrative construction, and external brand amplification
Capstone Project:
- A polished executive storytelling package, which may include:
- A written leadership narrative or pitch
- Supporting short-form summaries or talking points
- A list of targeted podcasts, publications, or interview opportunities with recommended outreach approaches
