- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and five years of related experience.

- Master's Degree in Healthcare Management or Business, Accounting, or Finance
- Experience with QGenda, Epic, and PowerBI
- Seven years experience in healthcare environment at academic medical center
Job Summary:

Responsible for overall management of departmental administrative and technical services, staff coordination, policy and procedure development, strategic planning and special projects across multiple areas. Includes a variety of complex decisions with minimal direction.
Job Duties:
- Manages and directs administrative or operational departmental services, processes and special projects across multiple areas.
- Performs administrative functions as a working lead to support multiple areas.
- Develops planning, management, and organizational analysis; establishes goals and objectives; directs and coordinates development of guidelines, policies, procedural changes and standards to improve administrative operations.
- Manages and assists the Shared Administrative Services staff to align work processes and to establish and attain goals and objectives for efficient department operation.
- Oversees the development and administration of department budget.
- Oversees multiple administrative or operational projects as assigned.
- Responsible for staff development programs including programs to increase employee satisfaction for department.
- Responsible for forming ad hoc support teams in response to institutional/department initiatives.
- Empowers Administrative Support Group to align work processes.
- Assists the Administrative Support Group establishing and attaining goals and objectives.
- Provides information coordination between administrative staff and leadership.
- Oversees compliance and other training for department.
- Provides Accountable Property Officer Services for department.
- Provide guidance for interpretation of UTMB and departmental rules, regulations and policies.
- Provides information coordination between administrative staff and leadership.
- Provides mediation and conflict resolution for department/process.
- Meets with administrative support team to receive feedback, gather ideas & empower employees.
- Makes complex administrative decisions regarding organizational and departmental issues.
- Assists with personnel functions within department/process.
- Responsible for facilitation and monitoring of recruitment activity across multiple platforms.
- Works collaboratively with finance to ensure accurate accounting and reconciliation of additional pay. Conducts employee performance reviews & makes recommendations for development and reward for department/process.
- Steward of budgetary funds used by the administrative support.
- Provides guidance for interpretation of UTMB and departmental rules, regulations and policies.
- Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and implement compliance.
- Represents the department leadership in their absence as needed.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Building OR Call Schedule within the Department of Anesthesiology.
- Faculty/ staff recruitment.
- Responsible for tracking and reconciling external locum reports for billing.
