Heavy Diesel & Trailer Mechanic
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel & Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel trucks and trailers to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, and a commitment to maintaining DOT and company safety standards.
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic tests on diesel trucks and trailers to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Analyze diagnostic results and determine appropriate repair strategies.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, brake adjustments, and other preventative services.
- Repair or replace components including engines, brakes, tires, lighting systems, suspension parts, electrical systems, ABS components, trailer flooring, and structural/body elements.
- Inspect and service trailer systems, ensuring proper operation of brakes, lighting, tires, and electrical components.
- Test vehicles and trailers after repairs to ensure full compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and services performed.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols; assist with general shop maintenance.

Requirements
- 2 or more years of experience
- Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, trailer mechanic, or similar role.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
- Familiarity with DOT safety regulations and inspection procedures.
- Proficiency with tools, equipment, and computerized diagnostic systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to lift heavy components, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
