Application Engineer - DAD at Southern States, LLC – LaGrange, Georgia

Job Summary:
This position will focus on development and maintenance of multiple software applications for solutions we provide to our customers, and for solutions we implement in our production process. Alongside software development, the engineer will also help create and review automation controller (relay) programming design and provide support to our customers. Training will be provided to the selected candidate on how to perform these duties.
Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintain, enhance, and support the production automated testing platform to improve production efficiency and reliability
• Develop, update, maintain, and support software solutions to help our customers improve their system reliability by automating their system with smart grid solutions.
• Configure relay and logic programming
• Configure, install, and support electric grid automation system configuration
• Support the production floor on any troubleshooting and resolve issues encountered
• Provide customer support
• Train both internal employees and customers
• Provide engineering support for all members of the division
• Some travel required not expected to exceed 20%

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: BS in Software Engineering or related technical engineering with 0-5 years of experience
• Proficiency with Java, Python, and HTML
• Experience with database management system using PostgreSQL and cloud technology using AWS
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
• Basic AI proficiency
• Ability to troubleshoot effectively
• Comfortable with speaking in front of and training groups of people
• Ability to travel within the US

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of SCADA
• Knowledge of distribution power grid, Reclosers, and SEL relays
• Outgoing personality to serve on the front line of customer experience
