Mechanic Helper at Northern Improvement Company – Dickinson, North Dakota

Northern Improvement is hiring a mechanic helper! The Mechanic Helper will assist in preventative maintenance and repairs and transporting materials and supplies.

Duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of a company vehicle (automobile/full size truck)
• Check all fluid levels daily and perform daily walk around inspection, to include greasing as necessary, when operating equipment
• Washing, cleaning, and lubricating equipment
• Complete preventative and reactive maintenance on all equipment
• Assist in maintenance of equipment and facilities including keeping them in good, clean, orderly condition
• Order necessary parts to repair the equipment
• Adheres to all safety policies, procedures, and instructions from management
• Assist with equipment diagnostics and repair
• Travel to receive and deliver parts as needed using a company vehicle
• All other duties as assigned, delegated, or necessary for operations

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Driver’s License
• Ability to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment
• Reliable work attendance is required

Working conditions

• Indoor/outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures
• Occasional exposures to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises.

• Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner.
• Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments.
• Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment.
• Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
• Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 pounds
