Job Purpose
The Manager, Emergency Response is critical in ensuring our team members come to work in a safe environment and perform their jobs safely while following company procedures. This position also oversees the Corporate Emergency Response Plan, which is essential in ensuring any emergency situations are properly handled and is responsible for the company’s compliance with OSHA workplace safety standards.

Job Description
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage and update the Corporate Emergency Response Plan, to include:
• Updating the Corporate Emergency Response Manual (CERM),
• Organize and run emergency drills with company personnel,
• Interface with interline, codeshare, and other business partners,
• Provide organizational support to the Emergency Command Center and On-Site Team during an emergency, and
• Provide hands-on training to members of the Emergency Command Center and On-Site Team.
• Manage the OSHA reporting and compliance activities for the organization, to include:
• Processing all injury reports, to include interfacing with Human Resources to ensure OJIs are properly managed,
• Maintain records for all employee-related injuries,
• Report to OSHA or other applicable agencies OJI data as-needed,
• Lead Safety Risk Management activity related to employee safety, and
• Work with department leaders to identify mitigations to prevent injuries.
• Support the Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) by conducting periodic audits.
• Participate in safety committee meetings, conferences, and continuing education programs as assigned.
• Train team members on safety protocols and safety standards, in accordance with company manuals.
• Collect and aggregate safety data from the field in order to determine trends and threats to the safety of the company’s operation, people or aircraft.
• Promote the use of the company’s safety programs, by writing articles for publication and distribution in the safety newsletter, conducting base visits, and encouraging safety reporting.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
•US Citizen or have the legal right to accept employment in the United States.
•Able to obtain airport security clearance, required.
•High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
•Able to actively promote and personally observe safety and security procedures.
•Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
•Possess strong professional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
•Public speaking skills which will allow them to effectively present on both the individual level and to large audiences, including Sterling employees, industry professionals and federal agencies.
•The ability to communicate ideas and effectively manage the interpersonal situations that arise during instruction.
•Ability to orchestrate and conduct professional meetings.
•Ability to organize own work, while working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality.
•Must be a self-starter.

Preferred:
•Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•2 years of experience in Part 121 Air Carrier Operations.
•2 years of experience in training ground handling personnel.
•2 years of experience in managing airline emergency response programs.
•2 years of experience in administering and managing safety programs under 14 CFR Part 5.

Work Environment:
•Schedule is full time Monday-Friday, with flexible hours between 0700 and 1800.
•Nonstandard hours to include night and weekend hours when necessary.
•15% travel, primarily to company bases for training, incident investigations, and audit evaluations.
•Work location is remote.
