Accounts Receivable Clerk at Midway Motors – McPherson, Kansas

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join a people-first organization that values teamwork, professionalism, and doing things the right way. This role is a key part of our accounting and office operations and is ideal for someone who enjoys staying organized, working with numbers, and supporting a collaborative team environment.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for managing accounts receivable functions, including posting payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role will also include cross-training in accounts payable and daily cash deposits, providing flexibility and coverage support when needed. Accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality are critical, as this role directly supports financial reporting and operational integrity.

The ideal candidate is trainable, coachable, and adaptable, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Prior accounting or automotive industry experience is helpful but not required, we are happy to train the right individual who brings a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Post and reconcile accounts receivable transactions
• Process customer and internal payments accurately and timely
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records
• Assist with accounts payable processing when needed
• Prepare and process daily cash deposits
• Research and resolve account discrepancies
• Support month-end and audit preparation as needed
• Collaborate with accounting, office, and management teams

Job Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES)

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a bookkeeper or accounting clerk
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree or certificate in accounting
• Two or more years bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Automotive industry experience
• Attention to detail
• Customer-focused with the ability to communicate directly with customers, vendors and employees
• Cooperative spirit focused on providing excellent customer service and being a team player
• Maintain a professional appearance and work ethic
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
