Are you a detail-oriented compliance professional with a strong understanding of affordable housing regulations and a passion for protecting operational integrity?
RYSE Management is seeking an experienced and solutions-driven Compliance Manager to oversee affordable housing compliance across our multifamily portfolio. This role is critical in ensuring adherence to LIHTC, HUD, and other regulatory program requirements while supporting operational teams in maintaining audit-ready communities.
As a Compliance Manager, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert and internal compliance partner—protecting the organization from regulatory risk while reinforcing our core values of Relationships, Yield, Stewardship, and Elevation.
What You’ll Do
Provide oversight of affordable housing compliance across assigned communities
Ensure strict adherence to LIHTC, HUD, HOME, and applicable state agency regulations
Review and approve income certifications, recertifications, and supporting documentation
Conduct regular file audits and compliance reviews to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness
Identify deficiencies and provide corrective action guidance to Community Managers
Prepare communities for state agency audits, investor reviews, and regulatory inspections
Maintain compliance tracking systems, reporting calendars, and regulatory deadlines
Monitor rent limits, income limits, and utility allowance updates to ensure accuracy
Partner with Operations and Accounting to mitigate compliance risk and ensure reporting accuracy
Train and support on-site teams regarding affordable housing regulations and documentation standards
Escalate compliance risks to leadership with recommended mitigation strategies
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Public Administration, or related field preferred
3–5 years of affordable housing compliance experience
Direct experience with LIHTC regulations required
Working knowledge of HUD, HOME, and other federal or state housing programs preferred
Strong understanding of Fair Housing laws and regulatory requirements
Experience preparing for state agency audits and investor reviews
High attention to detail with strong documentation and organizational skills
Ability to interpret regulatory guidance and apply it operationally
Proficiency in property management systems (RealPage, OneSite, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred Certifications:
HCCP (Housing Credit Certified Professional)
COS (Certified Occupancy Specialist)
