Starting Salary: $103,000 annually, with potential adjustments based on experience, education, and qualifications.

Position Summary
The Scientific Project Manager is responsible for coordinating scientific refrigeration projects from customer interest to quoting to order acceptance through installation and project completion. This role serves as the primary liaison between sales, engineering, manufacturing, installation, technical support teams, contractors, and customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and according to specification.
The ideal candidate has experience managing construction or equipment installation projects, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and driving execution in environments involving custom equipment, site preparation, and contractor coordination.
This position supports the continued growth of RSG’s Scientific refrigeration division, ensuring a seamless transition from quoting through installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Help sales and the customer in project scoping prior to quoting and taking the order
- Manage assigned projects from order release through installation and completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
- Coordinate project activities across sales, engineering, quoting, manufacturing, and customer experience teams
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve issues that may impact schedule, scope, or customer expectations
Construction & Installation Coordination
- Coordinate installation readiness and project execution for scientific refrigeration systems
- When installation services are included in the project scope, collaborate with RSG’s Installation team to align equipment delivery, site readiness, and installation scheduling
- Work with installation process owners to ensure project requirements, drawings, and site conditions are clearly communicated
- Monitor installation progress and escalate risks that may impact schedule or project outcomes
Customer & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, contractors, and internal teams
- Provide project updates and coordinate responses to project-related questions
- Maintain clear documentation and communication throughout the project lifecycle
Project Documentation & Risk Management
- Coordinate project documentation, drawings, and submittals required for project execution
- Support contract review and scope clarification when needed
- Identify and escalate risks related to schedule, site readiness, or project scope
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience supporting construction, refrigeration, mechanical systems, laboratory equipment, or equipment installation projects
- Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders and technical equipment
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification -required
- Experience with laboratory equipment, refrigeration systems, or mechanical construction projects
- Familiarity with construction documentation, submittals, and change order processes
Relevant Project Experience (Strongly Preferred)
Candidates should have experience managing projects involving one or more of the following:
- Mechanical equipment installations
- Refrigeration or HVAC systems
- Laboratory or scientific equipment installations
- Food service or cold storage equipment projects
- Construction coordination with contractors and installers
- Site readiness, equipment delivery, and installation scheduling
