Who You Are
  • 6+ years of post-production experience within a digital-first media, entertainment, or culture-driven content environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing post-production teams, including full-time staff and freelance editors, across high-volume, multi-format outputs (originals, vertical, social, promo, branded).
  • Advanced hands-on expertise in editing, color correction, and sound mixing, with the ability to elevate creative standards and troubleshoot elaborate post challenges.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling efficient post workflows, standards, and resourcing strategies in fast-paced production settings.
  • Hands-on experience and comfortable implementing and adopting AI tools in the editing process.
  • Experience serving as Post Supervisor on premium, original, or new-format projects from development through final delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of emerging post-production technologies, including AI-assisted editing tools and digital-first best practices.
  • Experience managing post-production budgets, vendor relationships, freelance onboarding, and third-party licensing libraries (photo, video, music).
  • Deep understanding of media management systems, archival strategy, and collaboration with IT on hybrid storage (on-prem + cloud) solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to balance creative excellence, speed, and budget discipline.
What You'll Do
  • General Operations
  • Oversee post production across editorial video content for Complex, including originals, vertical video, promo, and potential branded and third party productions.
  • Research and implement AI assisted editing workflows and technologies.
  • Maintain and demonstrate proficiency in editing, color correction, and sound mixing techniques to advise and supervise post-production teams.
  • Strategize on post production resourcing and staffing to ensure the best possible product is delivered while considering overall video priorities.
  • Define post production workflows, standards and practices/processes, implement across all production groups including creative and production.
  • Partner with production to stay up to date on current shoot schedules, as well as advise on post production needs for developing projects.
  • Track post production costs including editor actuals, physical assets purchases, libraries, and subscriptions.
  • Keep up with emerging post production technology and tools as well as digital first formats and best practices.
  • Manage post operations team and full time editors.
  • Develop creative producers to nurture understanding of post production processes.
  • Maintain and manage relationships with third party party libraries, including photo, video, music.

  • Media Management
  • Oversee the intake of all media following shoots to guarantee adherence to post-production timelines.
  • Tracking all archival material and overseeing best practices for organization and retrieval of archived assets.
  • Collaborating with IT and business development to devise strategies for extracting and monetizing archival assets.
  • Collaborate with IT to oversee the balance between on-site server capacity and cloud storage solutions.

  • Post Supervising Responsibilities
  • Source and hire editors for each project. Supervise the onboarding freelancers and facilitate payments.
  • Oversee the creation and management of post production schedules per video product.
  • Act as post supervisor on Complex originals and new to world projects.
  • Maintain a robust roster of post production freelancers and vendors, including but not limited to editors, assistant editors, motion graphics designers, post mixers and sound designers, online/color editors, music supervisors.

The Pay Range, which consists of salary and commission, for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Complex Total Rewards offerings for employees.
