About the role

The Lead Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) is responsible for overseeing and supporting the team of DSPs who provide direct care to individuals with disabilities in our residential care settings. This role will involve supporting, training, and guiding DSPs to ensure the delivery of high-quality care in a safe, respectful, and person-centered manner. The Lead will also play a key role in scheduling, performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant care standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support a team of DSPs, ensuring they provide high-quality care to individuals with disabilities. Offer guidance and assistance as needed to help maintain excellent service.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new DSPs, providing mentorship and support to help them succeed in their roles. Encourage ongoing professional development.
  • Help maintain a positive and supportive work environment where DSPs feel valued and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Assist with scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, while balancing team needs and client care requirements.
  • Ensure individualized care plans and behavioral support strategies are followed correctly by monitoring care quality and supporting DSPs in implementing best practices.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to DSPs, helping address any performance concerns and reinforcing high standards of care. Support corrective action processes as directed.
  • Be a point of support during challenging situations or crises, guiding DSPs in using de-escalation techniques and following proper protocols.
  • Help maintain accurate client records, ensuring documentation of care activities, incidents, and other required reports is complete and up to company and regulatory standards.
  • Act as a bridge between DSPs, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring clear and open communication to meet client needs.
  • Ensure DSPs follow company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements by assisting in compliance checks and participating in audits or inspections as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher in Social Services, Healthcare, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ year(s) experience providing in-home support, mental health care, or disability services.
  • First Aid / CPR Certification or willing to obtain upon hire
  • Must have a valid Driver's License & Insurance
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to residential care services.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

The pay range for this role is:
19 - 21 USD per hour(Yucca Valley)
