Job Summary:

TheCost Control Specialist is responsible for supporting project teams byperforming cost control activities for a portfolio of large projects. Responsibilities will include validating andreporting project costs, incorporating trends or approved changes, and providingfinancial forecasts for assigned projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with all relevant project anddiscipline personnel to prepare project cost expectations and tracking tools;

• Understand all relevant projectdocuments pertaining to the preparation of cost control plans and reports;

• Ensuring the integrity ofaccounting information and providing analytical services for utility projects;

• Monitoring, maintaining, andcompleting key reports and providing analytical functions towards capitalprojects utilizing data and other critical deliverables;

• Collecting, evaluating, andreporting Capital budget, project cost, work order closings and variancereporting;

• Initiate, monitor, maintain andclose out of capital work orders;

• Create and analyze capitalbudgets, financial forecasts, reporting of actual financial results andvariance explanations;

• Work with accounting on reconcilinginvoices;

• Assists in the preparation of accruals;

• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Requires a High-School Diploma or Equivalent;Bachelor's degree preferred

• Ten (10) years of experience as a project costanalyst or similar role

• Requires a working knowledge of cost controlsoftware and the ability to learn new software platforms quickly

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Officesoftware (Word, Powerpoint, etc.)

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

• Have attention to detail

• Ability to interact effectively with staff atall levels

• Availability and the ability to work on multipleprojects simultaneously

• Availability and ability to travel to clientsites on occasion

• Availability and ability to work overtime asneeded based on project

Working Conditions:

• Interactionwith other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel

• May berequired to travel out of town on a periodic basis to obtain project field dataor attend project meetings

• Fieldduties may require outdoor work in a plant, facility or terminal environment

• Must beable to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personalprotection

• May beat more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes

Physical Requirements (With or without Reasonable Accommodation):

• Must be able to lift and carry five (5) pounds

• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communicationcapabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time

• Sufficient vision or other powers of observation which permitsemployee to conduct analysis and investigations

• Sufficient manual dexterity which permit the employee to performroutine office duties

• Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to performoffice duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations
