Housekeeping Aide at Jefferson Community Health Center – Fairbury, Nebraska

Jefferson Community Health & Life is looking to hire a full-time housekeeping aide:

Full Time - 40 hours per week.

5:00am - 1:30pm must be able to work every 8th weekend/rotating holidays.

Must be able to take CALL and work weekends/holidays.

POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains assigned areas in an acceptable manner using defined cleaning procedures and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma, GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Effective customer service skills

Previous experience organizing and prioritizing workloads

Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Works independently, effectively coordinates workflow, and performs all general cleaning procedures and practices as defined in housekeeping.

• Uses good time management skills to ensure everything gets done and to allow time for routine and extra projects.

Maintains standards of cleanliness in assigned areas as established by departmental policy.

• Sweeps, dust mops and wet mops floors: cleans, disinfects and deodorizes urinals, commodes, sinks, mirrors, water fountains, etc.
• Performs isolation cleaning and dismissal cleaning as assigned. Washes walls, performs dusting (high, low, vertical and horizontal), washes walls and replenishes supplies.
• Collects trash and linens from assigned areas and deposit them in the appropriate place for pick-up or removal.
• Moves furniture such as beds, chairs tables, etc.
• Cleans office areas in accordance to policies.

Carries out duties utilizing appropriate safety and security practices.

• Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
• Uses chemical according to direction.
• Secures assigned doors during drills or defined announced codes.

Performs carpet cleaning.

• Cleans small stains immediately with spotter and twist action for small stains or with small extractor.
• Extracts large areas, as assigned.

Completes assigned work orders or projects in a timely fashion.

• Turns in completed work order by end of week excluding ones that are scheduled monthly.
• Finishes extra assigned tasks as requested.

Complies with the state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of JCH&L operations and requirements of the JCH&L Compliance Program, including but not limited to the Service Excellence Standards, the Compliance Policy, Safety and Infection Control, all department and organization-wide policies, Critical Access Hospital requirements, and Federal and State of Nebraska regulations.
