Lab Technician at AMG Vanadium – Zanesville, Ohio

Summary

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Lab Technician with prior relevant experience and/or education to provide sample preparation and chemical analysis of the day-to-day production activities at our Cambridge facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements, policies, and procedures, including AMG’s Code of Business Conduct
• Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities; foster and promote a positive, respectful work environment that is aligned with AMG’s values
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, etc.), Environmental Permit Requirements, and company standards
• Provide sample preparation and chemical analysis in a production/heavy industrial facility laboratory
• Responsible for instrumentation validations
• Support or produce lab reports as required
• Perform quality system checks and record
• Support quality department by performing procedure reviews
• Keep the lab and equipment clean and operational
• Support quality and lab programs - training and audits

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma; Associate degree in a technical field preferred
• 1 – 2 years laboratory experience
• Able to work 12-hour swing/rotation shifts (weekends included)
• Able to follow procedures with accuracy
• Knowledge of chemistry and lab equipment helpful
• Ability to understand technical processes
• Data analysis and record keeping skills
• Problem solving and numeracy skills
• Time management and organizational skills
• Good follow through skills, as well as heightened attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Project
• Great housekeeping skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with XRF and Leco Technique
