About This Position

About Company:

Madden Bolt is the leading fabricator of quality steel industrial fasteners and miscellaneous steel parts. Our history began in 1942 as a small steel bolt fabricator that would eventually inspire a seventy-year legacy of customer-driven steel manufacturing solutions.

Over the years, the Madden family continued to strengthen its business model with a focus on expedited fastener solutions, persevering through another two generations under the nationally recognized brand, Madden. The company started offering galvanizing services in 2007 to address an efficiency gap in the industry. Madden’s business grew substantially as customers began to realize the benefits of dealing with just one service provider for fabrication and finishing solutions.

Today, the company has evolved into a full-scale fabrication operation with global capabilities. An additional fabrication facility was added in 2016 to meet increasing demand. Though much has changed since the 1940’s, one thing will always remain – our relationships with customers. Madden combines good old-fashioned partnerships with unparalleled efficiency to meet the demands of today. Our customers know that when we work together, we can accomplish almost anything, even last minute fabrication needs.

About the Role:

The Crane Operator plays a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of heavy materials and equipment within industrial, construction, and offshore drilling environments. This position requires precise operation of overhead cranes and other heavy machinery to support various phases of construction, refinery maintenance, and oil field operations. The operator ensures that all lifting and rigging activities comply with safety regulations and company protocols to prevent accidents and equipment damage. Ultimately, the Crane Operator contributes to project success by enabling timely and secure handling of materials in challenging and dynamic work environments across the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid crane operator certification recognized in the United States.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience operating overhead cranes and heavy equipment in industrial or oil field settings.

  • Physical ability to work in demanding environments including offshore and refinery sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with forklift operation and maintenance.

  • Additional certifications in rigging or heavy equipment operation.
  • Prior experience working in plant environments.
  • Completion of advanced safety training such as OSHA 30-hour or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate overhead cranes and other heavy equipment to lift, move, and position materials safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect cranes and rigging equipment daily to ensure operational safety and report any defects or maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate with rigging crews and site supervisors to plan lifts and ensure proper load handling techniques are used.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to minimize risks in manufacturing environments.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members to facilitate smooth workflow and respond promptly to any operational issues.

Skills:

The required skills such as heavy equipment operation, overhead crane handling, and rigging are essential for safely maneuvering large and complex loads in various industrial settings. Proficiency with hand tools and forklifts complements crane operation by enabling the operator to assist in equipment setup and material handling tasks. Knowledge of oil field and offshore drilling environments ensures the operator can adapt to the unique challenges and safety requirements of these high-risk areas.
