Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or an equivalent, related field.

APICS / CPIM certification is highly desired

Experience: Ten or more years’ procurement, logistics (inventory, shipping and receiving), material planning experience, with at least 5 years of supervisory experience desired. Previous aerospace experience required.

Job Description:

Under general supervision, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for administration and performance of production planning, and strategic sourcing activities. This position is also responsible for driving optimal inventory levels and overseeing Logistics (Warehousing, Shipping / Receiving / Material Handling). General duties within the department include: Administration of company policies: employee training; supplier delivery and quality performance; and continuous improvement of departmental operations and processes; establishing departmental objectives and plans in accordance with company goals; and implementation of departmental plans. The position will be responsible for overseeing the following functional departments: Planning, Purchasing, Stock Room/Warehouse, and Shipping / Receiving.

Must have previous aerospace experience. Prior experience with Syteline ERP is a big plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Supply Chain Leadership:

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business goals, including demand forecasting, production planning (SIOP), and inventory optimization to minimize costs while ensuring material availability.
  • Manage all supply chain operations, either directly or through subordinates, for the purpose of meeting company Safety, Quality, Production, Delivery, and Cost objectives.
  • Interfacing with customers and vendors as necessary.

Procurement, Supply & Risk Management:

  • Lead strategic sourcing, and management of suppliers for raw materials, components and outside services (e.g., anodizing, passivation, plating, etc.).
  • Negotiate contracts (LTAs or annual buys with periodic deliveries tied to production schedules).
  • Qualify suppliers, conduct audits, and build strong, long-term relationships with a focus on quality, costs, delivery, and risk mitigation (including geopolitical and single-source risks).
  • Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions, long-lead items, or volatile material pricing.
  • Oversee and coordinate the purchasing of raw materials and purchased parts.
  • This role bears complete responsibility and leadership for the coordination and execution of procurement and logistics with proper metrics.

Inventory & Material Planning:

  • Manage inventory levels using company’s Syteline MRP/ERP system to balance just-in-time principles with demand (customer orders and forecasts) and aerospace requirements for traceability and obsolescence control.
  • Utilize ERP capacity planning to identify production constraints and recommended solutions.
  • Maintain a cost effective inventory control system in finished goods, purchased components, fabricated parts and raw material.
  • Maintain regular, effective inventory cycle counting, reduce excess stock/obsolete stock and support lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Participates with the Sales Department in the development and maintenance of customer-based product forecasts in concert with the Master Scheduler / Production Planners.
  • Assesses production data daily to pinpoint trouble areas and suggests improvements, as necessary.

Logistics & Warehouse:

  • Oversee inbound/outbound logistics, shipping/receiving, and warehouse operations.
  • Optimize transportation for cost and reliability.
  • Ensure inventory compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100 and ITAR export controls).

Compliance & Quality:

  • Maintain full traceability, documentation, and compliance with AS9100 standards and customer requirements.
  • Plan and administer procedures and work instructions for all primary activities within department in accordance with company’s AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management System; prior experience with responding to CAPAs and managing vendor quality and deliveries is necessary.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams on supplier quality issues and corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze supply chain performance metrics (OTD, cost savings, inventory turns and supplier performance).
  • Identify and implement process improvements, MRP/ERP enhancements, and technology solutions (e.g., better forecasting tools or automation where feasible).
  • Accomplishes continuous improvement through PPV reduction and other supplier quality / procurement initiatives.

Team Leadership, Development & Collaboration:

  • Build, mentor, and lead the supply chain team (procurement, planning and logistics).
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance; rewarding; and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Adjust work schedules as necessary to meet special order requirements.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Finance in a collaborative manner, to resolve issues quickly and support production schedules.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Serves as member of Company’s Safety Committee, as required.
  • Perform tasks equal to or exceeding standards.
  • Working consistently, and working overtime as required.
  • Conducts himself/herself in a business-like and civil manner.
  • Other job duties as assigned and essential for the successful execution of the business.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency required, due to ITAR compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle, Syteline, or similar).
  • APICS/CPIM training and or certification is highly desired.
  • Solid understanding of aerospace quality systems (AS9100 and ITAR/EAR regulations).
  • Superior knowledge of all Supply Chain, Production Control, SIOP, and inventory optimization functions.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decisions (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
  • Good working knowledge of other MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Ability to react to changes productively and perform other essential tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to motivate and direct subordinate staff as necessary.
  • Effective time management skills
  • Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the Company
  • Manual dexterity to safely and proficiently operate or utilize office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, calculators, and personal computers
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods in front of a computer
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Be team oriented and possess flexibility and adaptability
  • Previous aerospace experience is a MUST
