Description:

SFCC provides a high-quality, geographically, financially and emotionally accessible education to more than 5,000 students who range from traditional college-age students to adult learners.

The college offers associate of arts, associate of fine arts, associate of science and associate of applied science degrees, professional and skills certificates, and noncredit courses and programs, and workforce development training in a 14-county area in central Missouri with locations in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Warsaw, at Whiteman Air Force Base, and online.


Position Purpose: This full-time exempt position provides guidance to potential and current students, assists students in identifying resources, supports recruitment and admissions processes, and coordinates administrative and compliance duties for all Health Science programs at the Clinton Campus. The position ensures efficient program operations by assisting with student documentation, communication, and departmental workflow in collaboration with Program Directors, faculty, and staff.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist students in obtaining accurate information about educational and career options, academic requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of information promoting health science program enrollment.
  • Assist with recruitment, retention, and placement of potential and current students, specifically, but not limited to, phone, email, and in-person contact with students.
  • Maintain a computerized student and prospect database to be accessible to others who advise students.
  • Assist with planning and delivery of new student orientation.
  • Coordinate department workflow across all programs, including inventory management, classroom scheduling, and resolving classroom or office technology issues.
  • Assist with exam proctoring, scheduling, and testing processes.
  • Assist with cooperative agreements, annual renewals, preceptor/clinical partner records, regulatory requirements, and documentation required by clinical or external sites.
  • Support programs in monitoring student compliance with program requirements such as drug testing, immunizations, background checks, and other onboarding documentation.
  • Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating department-wide projects and improvements; help develop or refine processes and resources to meet the needs of all program areas.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, community partners, employers, clinical sites, and vendors representing all program disciplines.
  • Coordinate and support departmental events, advisory committees, and student success initiatives.
  • Serve on college, department, and community committees or teams; attend meetings and record minutes as requested.
  • Provide front-line support for the department by greeting visitors, answering phones, routing calls, managing walk-ins, and responding to information requests for health science programs.
  • Maintain accurate student and prospect records for health science programs, including databases, transcripts, requisitions, correspondence, reports, and student/clinical documentation.
  • Assist with budget processes, support data entry, and report maintenance for all program areas.
  • Participate in required professional development activities.
  • Attend pinning ceremonies, graduation events, and other program-related activities.
  • Assist program directors, faculty, and coordinators in achieving department, program, and college goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective functioning of the health science programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Individual has strong computer skills and can proficiently operate office equipment such as scanners, fax, copier, and telephone.
  • Individual can manage Smartsheet and Excel spreadsheets for the input of data.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area preferred. Associate degree required.
  • One year or more experience in related field, preferred, but not required.

Skills:

  • Be able to work in an office setting that requires frequent sitting, standing, and occasionally, stooping.
  • Be able to multitask in a fast paced and noisy environment with diverse customers.
  • Efficiently work as a team member with faculty and staff.
  • Learn and use technology for student tracking, enrollment & registration and guide students through various self-service programs such as Experience.
  • Create a student-centered environment.
  • Seek and maintain notary certification.
  • Be able to articulate the mission and core values of the Health Science programs and SFCC.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work involves sedentary to light work in an office setting.
  • There is frequent sitting, with walking, standing and stooping occasionally required.
  • There is an occasional need to lift objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
