Mechanical Designer at Magnum Technical Services, Inc. – Houston, Texas

Position Summary:

Designer is required to ensure timely and efficient project completions that will achieve customer objectives. This person will work with the Design / Engineering team, internal/external, and various customers in order to develop accurate design drawings suitable for construction.

Job Skills & Knowledge:

• Must be proficient in Auto Cad 2024 or newer (which includes knowledge of X’refs)
• Must be skilled in mechanical (Piping / HVAC) design. Electrical design a plus.
• Must be able to read / understand PI&D’s
• Must be able to adapt existing products and processes in unique ways to solve customer problems
• Must be able to help create solutions to customer problems
• Must be proficient in the use of common office software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must take ownership of his / her projects
• Must be able to multi-task while maintaining project deadlines
• Must be self-motivated
• Knowledge of Semiconductor industry / Tool Hook-up is a plus

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop conceptual & detailed designs by analyzing equipment / vendor specifications, customer requirements, & existing designs.
• Work with multiple customers and Facilities personnel
• Support engineering evaluations (working with Engineering System Owners)
• Maintain utility database
• Field Work (As-Builts, etc.)
• Follow Design & Cad best practices
• Maintain confidential information
• Follow and comply with all safety regulations

Physical Requirements:

This position is primarily in an office environment. However, field investigation of in-plant piping, civil, structural, or mechanical equipment requires the ability to don personnel protective equipment (PPE) such as flame-retardant clothing (FRC), hart hat, safety eyewear, safety footwear, fall protection harnesses or other specialty PPE. Ability to manipulate office materials and/or equipment and occasionally Lift, Hold/Carry 5-10lbs.

Required Physical Manipulation performed from:

• Ground to waist

• Waist to shoulder
• Above shoulder

Required Climbing Abilities: To move up or mount stairs and ladders by using the hands or feet as required including, a step stool ladder, 8’ to 10’ ladder, extension ladder and/or stairs of 1-3 or more flights.

Frequency is occasional as required by job duties 9 plus hours per day.

Required ability to walk over terrain conditions:

• Flat
