Position Summary
The Accounting Manager collaborates with the Senior Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the companys financial reporting across assigned areas. The role leads a small team of accountants and plays a key role in executing the month-end close, balancing intercompany transactions, maintaining strong internal controls, and developing a high-performing accounting team.
This position partners with Finance and Operations to strengthen financial monitoring, analysis, and reporting capabilities that support the companys continued growth and expansion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the monthly close process through reviewing and approving journalentries and balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by accountingstaff, ensuring accuracy, strong supporting documentation, ERP dataintegrity, and compliance with company policies and applicable accountingstandards
- Perform monthly variance analysis of balance sheet and income statementaccounts, collaborating with the FP&A team to investigate variances andprovide accounting insight to support business decision-making
- Coordinate periodic reviews with operational leaders to walk through detailed financial activity within assigned areas, ensuring the underlying drivers behind reported balances are understood and unusual items are identified and addressed promptly
- Identify opportunities to improve and standardize accounting processes and ERP data structures; proactively lead implementation of solutions that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Lead and develop a team of 12 Staff or Senior Accountants, providing guidance on daily responsibilities while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Conduct performance evaluations, establish development goals, and support professional growth for team members, including identifying resources needed to achieve individual and team objectives
- Support external and internal audits through preparation of documentation, analysis, and coordination of audit requests
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Experience and Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or auditing experience
- Ability to connect and apply concepts across reporting areas to promote consistency in processesand conclusions reached
- Exercises curiosity and due diligence by identifying data irregularities and seeking clarification toensure accuracy and compliance
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship foremployment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
- Active CPA license
- Public accounting experience with Big 4 or large regional firm
- Experience with project management, particularly managing cross-functional teams
- Experience with NetSuite ERP
Travel Requirements:
- Local travel required (work location varies)
- Other travel or work location considerations: Occasional travel to other corporate locations forteam events, project meetings, and/or audit fieldwork may be required 0- 4 days a month
Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements:
- Additional and non-standard hours may be required (exempt)
- Other hour considerations: Additional hours will happen primarily during month end close, duringthe first week of the month, though may be needed at other times as well
