Job Description

Lake Wales, FL - Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Summary/Objective

The shipping clerk is responsible for preparing, processing and documenting outgoing shipments. This role ensures all orders are accurately packed, labeled and shipped on time while following company procedures and safety standards.

Essential Roles Prepare and process outgoing shipments according to daily schedules

  • Verify orders for accuracy (items, quantities, and condition)
  • label, and stage shipments for carrier pickup
  • Generate and process shipping documents (BOLs, packing slips, labels)
  • Coordinate with warehouse, supervisors, carriers and CSR to meet deadlines
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and logs
  • Schedule load pick-ups coordinate with carriers LTL, freight
  • Inspect packages for damage and report issues promptly
  • Follow safety procedures and always company policies
  • Keep shipping area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Communicate with customers and CSR via email
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment

The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, and bending. The employee will regularly be required to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Education & Experience

  • Experience in shipping, warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
  • Experience preparing shipping documents (BOL, packing slips, labels)
  • Basic computer skill including emails, data entry and Microsoft excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with UPS, LTL or freight companies.
