Qualifications
RS&H is currently seeking a Federal Planning Associate II to join our team in our Colorado Springs, CO office.
You’ll work from your local office and travel with our team to collect data, convert it into information, and make recommendations. No two days are the same as you investigate new problems, large amounts of data, and questions that come up along the way. Projects will be diverse and may include vision plans, district plans, area development plans, master plans, neighborhood plans, strategic facilities plans, facility utilization studies, capital investment strategies, project development and validation, and other products for federal agencies and other clients.
Here's what you need to be successful:
- A bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, civil engineering, or a related field and at least 3 years of prior experience in this field.
- A love for problem-solving. We create solutions for problems other people can’t solve. Your job? To stay curious while synthesizing data points into trends to help your team make client recommendations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy. You’ll create maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reports for the team. You’re the type of person who triple-checks your work before submitting it.
- A proactive and deadline-oriented attitude. While your leadership team will give you tasks for the week, you’ll be responsible for managing your time daily. Everyone relies on each other to deliver work on time.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of planning software.
- Willingness to travel (approximately 12 times per year).
- Adobe InDesign and Illustrator skills.
- Familiarity with the use of Geographic Information Systems.
- Experience creating plan graphics and visualizations.
- Experience performing master planning tasks and working on multiple project teams.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense land use, planning, and programming standards and processes.
- Must be a US person per client requirement.

The salary range for this position in Colorado Springs is $70,000–$90,000 per year, representing the employer’s goodfaith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on jobrelated skills, experience, internal equity, and geographic location, where applicable.
This role may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, an employee assistance program, retirement and financial protection programs (401(k), short and longterm disability), paid time off (including holidays and paid parental leave), and HSA funding up to $1,200 annually.
